DevOps Exchange September ft Fujitsu, Flagsmith, Aladdin Engineering

After 10 incredible years of hosting events, Wednesday marked a great milestone - our first-ever DevOps Exchange hosted in a church! With a central London church as our cathedral of code, the stage was set for some truly biblical Cloud and DevOps insights, with a packed audience ready to worship the tech.We were blessed with three powerful talks from 'God's' within the DevOps world; Neil Douek from Fujitsu revealed DevOps' "dirty little secret," while Kyle Johnson from Flagsmith preached the gospel of feature flags. Ali from our hosts, Aladdin Engineering (a part of Blackrock), took us on a deep dive into their Cloud Native journey.

Neil Douek dived into some of the less-discussed challenges of DevOps implementation, focusing on the pitfalls that organisations encounter when scaling their DevOps efforts. He highlighted common mistakes, strategies for avoiding them, and how to build a robust, scalable DevOps culture for long-term success.

Kyle Johnson discussed the powerful concept of feature flags, demonstrating how they can separate deployment from release. He explained how using feature flags can improve release strategies, reduce risks in software updates, and enhance control over feature rollouts for smoother user experiences.

Ali Noor from our hosts at Aladdin Engineering dived into the journey from bare metal to deploying 10k Argo applications, and the open-source contributions that opened up the capabilities for Aladdin’s Cloud Native platform.

Thank you to all of our speakers for their insightful talks and to Aladdin Engineering for hosting the event. We also extend our thanks to everyone who contributed to making it a success!

Our next event is scheduled for Wednesday 2nd October and will be taking place within the DTX London Conference at the ExCel. To rsvp, click here.
