THANK YOU to everyone who dedicated the time to attend the DevOps Exchange's first event of 2025 last night, hosted by our good friends at Zuhlke Engineering.

For the third time, Zuhlke welcomed us into their space, and once again, we were met with a packed audience eager to dive into the three insightful talks that were scheduled. We heard from Amazon, Grafana Labs, and our hosts at Zuhlke Engineering, each sharing their expertise on various topics within DevOps.

Immo Huneke and Istiaque Shaikat from our hosts at Zuhlke Engineering kicked-off the evening by exploring the challenges and breakthroughs of deploying advanced AI solutions across multiple cloud platforms.

They shared real-world successes, from the COVID-19 app to enterprise-wide data platforms for airports, highlighting Zuhlke’s role in driving transformational change for its clients.

The talk covered the increasing potential of generative AI in business decision making, along with the hurdles (security, scalability, and compliance) that come with AI deployment. One key innovation introduced was ZAG, an AI-powered tool designed to streamline document related queries using a multi-agent architecture.

For our second talk of the evening, Tulayb Mahmood from Grafana Labs dived into the critical role of observability in keeping mission critical applications running smoothly. Using the analogy of a pilot losing visibility mid-flight, he highlighted how metrics, logs, and traces help teams diagnose issues and maintain reliability.

He discussed the need for scalable, cost effective, and cloud-native observability, built on visualisation, correlation, and open standards like OpenTelemetry. He also shared Grafana’s journey in developing observability tools, the importance of continuous monitoring, and how businesses can optimize SLOs and SLAs.

Last, but not least we welcomed on stage (for the 2nd time) Srivalsan Mannoor from Amazon as he broke down the shift from traditional DevOps to platform engineering, where reusable components make LLM deployment faster and more efficient.

He then introduced Ray, an open-source framework for orchestrating and scaling ML models, and highlighted VMS for improved memory management and processing efficiency.

A big thank you (as always) to everyone involved in running this event, to our hosts Zuhlke for keeping us all watered and fed throughout the evening and to everyone who attended.

The DevOps Exchange will be back in March. Please keep an eye on our Meetup page for event announcements.

If you are interested in speaking, sponsoring or hosting a future event with us, please submit your details here.

We look forward to seeing you all soon!
