Thank you to everyone who visited us over the past 2 days at DTX Europe and to everyone who stopped by for the latest DevOps Exchange London event. The event welcomed many familiar faces from the DevOps Exchange community and a wider audience from the conference which was great to see. DTX Europe is the Home of Digital Transformation, with 300 exhibitors and dozens of stages from Cloud to AI, Infrastructure to Data and everything in between, the conference is a must for anyone interested in modern cutting edge technology, especially DevOps. For this event, we welcomed to the stage; Meta, formerly named as Facebook. GfK, a company currently dominating the Data Analytics space, Cloud Consultancy Temrel and finally digital transformation giant Capgemini.
DevOps Exchange October George Mamalakis at Meta kicked off the event by guiding us through the method of recovery if one of the Meta data centres went down and how the 'drain' approach of spreading the workload to other healthy data centres around the world can save them if a disaster ever occurred.
Next up, we had Denys Vasyliev from GfK - An NIQ Company talk to us about AI, not as a hype but from the perspective of SREs and the AI problems businesses are currently facing. He also guided us through the current state of the market including AI challenges he has faced so far at GfK.
Ben Stanley at Temrel then gave us a simplistic overview of what LLM's are, why businesses use them, their modes of use and how to use them to fine tune your pipeline.
Finally, we had Damon Wright from Capgemini dive into Kubernetes pods including a deep dive into containers and what actually happens behind the scenes. He concluded his talk with a live demo on how the different containers work with the different namespaces.
Be sure to keep an eye on our Meetup page for details of our next event taking place next month in London.
